University of Life: how student organizations complement academic education

The article is devoted to the study of the role of student organizations in the formation of a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the academic curriculum. The article examines the mechanisms through which participation in student associations contributes to the development of personal and professional skills, including leadership, project thinking, teamwork and emotional intelligence. Special attention is paid to non-formal education and the principle of learning through action, as well as the importance of social capital for students’ future careers. The author analyzes the long-term effects of involvement in student organizations, including the impact on career trajectories, leadership skills in the professional and public spheres, as well as the formation of the social memory of the university. Ethical and social aspects are considered, including volunteerism and the development of civic responsibility, as well as the risks of formalization and closeness of structures. The importance of integrating student initiatives into university policy through institutional support, recognition of extracurricular achievements, and the use of associations as a branding tool is emphasized. The article shows that student organizations are an integral part of the modern educational process, contributing to the comprehensive development of students and their preparation for life and work in a dynamic and globalized world.
