Literature lesson for the first-year students of the University College on the theme “The Storm” by Ostrovsky and “Groza” by Malenchev. Classical text and its unusual interpretation

Abstract. This article presents a packet of the literature lesson for the freshman year students named “The Storm” by Ostrovsky and “Groza” by Malenchev. Classical text and its unusual interpretation”. The lesson aims to develop communication skills, the ability of search and analyze information on the base of two school subjects such as Russian language and Literature. According to the authors, a comparative analysis of a classic work written in the 19th century and a modern adaptation of the same work can arouse interest on the part of students, form new theoretical concepts such as “adaptation” and “modernization”, systematize and fix them in the analysis of scenes, each of which refers to different types of art: fiction, theatrical art and cinema. To achieve the goal of the lesson, various forms of work and techniques were used: interactive methods, exercises, practical activities, artistic activities. The use of ICT-technology at this lesson helps to improve student’s motivation and improve the quality of the education. Also it is the necessary component for the final stage of the lesson: comparative analysis of three texts: the end of the drama “The Storm” by A. N. “Ostrovsky”, the drama “Groza” by E. A. Malenchev and the drama “The Storm” by G. M. Konstantinopolsky. This lesson was prepared for students of the first-year of studying of the secondary special education.
