Review Procedures

Reviewing (peer review) of manuscripts submitted to the scientific and methodological online journal «Kaliningradskij Vestnik Obrazovaniya» (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) is carried out in order to ensure a high scientific and methodological level of publications, selection of the most valuable and relevant (perspective) scientific and methodological works, making specific suggestions on improvement of peer-reviewed materials.

Principles of Peer Review

  1. All manuscripts that correspond to the subject area of the Journal and have been checked for originality — borrowings from open sources using the «Anti-Plagiarism» and «Domate» systems (uniqueness of materials must be at least 85 %) are reviewed.
  2. Members of the Editorial Board shall act as reviewers.
  3. The reviewer shall be nominated by the Deputy Chief Editor of the Journal.
  4. Articles are reviewed in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Ethics of the Journal’s editorial board (approved at the general meeting of journalists — staff members of the editorial board on 15.01.2019, Minutes No. 1).
  5. Reviews on manuscripts shall be kept in the editorial office of the Journal for at least 5 years and may be presented upon request of an interested person.

Review Period

  1. Manuscripts should be reviewed within not more than one month from the end of submission period for the planned issue of the Journal.

Rules for Materials Evaluation

  1. The reviewer evaluates the manuscript according to the following criteria:
    • scientific and methodological level (relevance, scientific novelty, theoretical/practical significance, problem statement, formulation of conclusion and argumentativeness of conclusions, choice of sources);
    • level of presentation (correspondence of the title of the manuscript with its content, correspondence of the abstract with the content of the work, correspondence of the volume of the manuscript with its content, correctness of keywords choice, logic, interrelation and quality of material presentation).
  2. Based on the review results, the reviewer concludes whether the manuscript meets the requirements or cannot be published.
  3. The decision made is communicated to the author.
  4. If the manuscript is rejected, the author is obligatorily provided with a justified rejection.

Decision on Publication of the Journal Issue

  1. The Chief Editor and the Deputy Chief Editor of the Journal form the next issue based on positive reviews of manuscripts that meet the requirements.
