This article examines current trends in the development of the regional system of mathematics and natural science education. Key problems are identified through an analysis of statistical data of the state final assessment, all-Russian test papers, and a study of personnel issues. Particular attention is given to the measures taken by the Institute of Educational Development and Advanced Training named after S. N. Donskoy-II, as well as to the measures addressing the current challenges for the system of education. The author examines key challenges facing rural, small, and hard-to-reach schools in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): the geographical dispersal of schools, a shortage of qualified teaching staff, and limited access to digital infrastructure and modern educational resources. The article outlines the main areas for the development of mathematics and natural science education within the framework of the country’s technological sovereignty.
The author proposes mechanisms for the activities of institutions of continuing professional education based on a systemic and integrated approach. The necessity of educational outcomes tracking, the school’s human resources potential, and infrastructure development are substantiated. The presented findings can be used by continuing professional education institutions in other regions when developing strategies and programs for educational development, as well as by heads of methodological departments and deputy directors for academic affairs. The reliability of the study’s results is ensured by objective statistical and analytical data from the State Budgetary Institution «Center for Monitoring the Quality of Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia),» which allowed us to identify key trends in the development of the regional system of mathematics and natural science education at the current stage and determine the factors hindering and stimulating this process.
