Patriotic education of senior preschool children: Kindergarten — Family engagement to the process of forming ideas about the Great Patriotic War

Abstract

This article is devoted to the issue of patriotic education of preschool children in the context of modern civilizational challenges. Special attention is paid to the practical implementation of the Federal Educational Program for Preschool Education and the Parent Education Program regarding the formation of traditional spiritual and moral values for preschool children. The analysis of normative and methodological documents, as well as the experience of interaction of preschool educational institutions with families of pupils in matters of patriotic education is carried out. Special attention is paid to the regional aspect on the example of the Kaliningrad region, where the unique historical features of the territory create unique prerequisites for the formation of patriotic feelings among children.
The article covers effective forms of work with preschoolers and their families: project activities, social events, workshops, creation of family clubs, etc. The practical experience of the kindergarten No. 2 «Svetlyachok» in Svetly is particularly described, where local history, state holidays, folk traditions and cultural heritage are successfully integrated in the educational program. The practical value of the material is to systematize the experience of forming children’s ideas about the Great Patriotic War, taking into account age characteristics, as well as to provide specific examples of joint activities of teachers, children and parents.
