Formation of senior preschool children’s ideas about professions in the context of the regional component: methodological recommendations
Abstract. The article presents methodological recommendations for the formation of ideas about professions among senior preschool children in the context of the implementation of the regional educational component. The relevance of this work is due to teachers-practitioners’ ambiguous interpretation of the provisions of the Federal State Educational Standard for Preschool Education and the Federal Educational Program for Preschool Education regarding the process of forming ideas about professions. At the same time, career guidance is being strengthened in the general education system, which has an impact on preschool education, which is recognized as the first level of general education, where a value-based attitude towards labor and professional activities is laid. In a number of cases, this leads to a shift of concepts and the substitution of the educational goal of forming ideas about professions for the early professional orientation of preschool children, which exacerbates existing methodological difficulties, necessitating the development of new methodological solutions and a clear understanding of the boundaries of their activities in this area. In this regard, the article focuses on taking into account the specifics of preschool education in organizing the process of forming children’s ideas about the diversity of professions. Regional peculiarities are taken into consideration, and continuity in the issue of vocational guidance between preschool and general education is ensured in the Kaliningrad region.
The key conditions of organizing activities include a unified thematic plan for working with children aged 5–7 to expand their understanding of professions in ten key areas; methods and forms of pedagogical activity; and specific interactions with parents (legal representatives) during the process of introducing children to professions.
The article is intended for teachers of preschool educational organizations and students of pedagogical specialties of universities and colleges.
