Professional orientation of students at the advanced level: implementation of a unified model in the Kaliningrad Region

Abstract. This article examines the advanced implementation of the unified model of career guidance in the region — the opening of a network of pre-vocational classes tailored to the needs of the Kaliningrad Region labor market. It describes the activities of the pre-vocational class in accordance with the structure approved by Order No. 1180/1 of the Ministry of Education of the Kaliningrad Region dated September 25, 2024, «On Approval of the Model Regulations for Pre-vocational Classes with In-Depth Study of Individual Subjects (Profile Training) Created in State (Municipal) General Education Organizations of the Kaliningrad Region.» Emphasis is placed on the introduction of a specialized curriculum and the organization of career guidance lessons, which are structured according to three stages: motivational and engaging, informational and educational, and personal and developing, using interactive teaching methods. Examples of lesson topics are provided for various subject areas, which can be used to introduce students to professions relevant to the regional economy. A component that enhances professional development is presented: pre-vocational courses, extracurricular activities, continuing education, and professional trials. Various forms of career guidance activities are considered, including professional internships at academic and industry partners in the form of a summer work camp, career guidance excursions to workshops at secondary vocational education institutions and partner companies, mini-internships at specialized organizations, and workshops with an academic partner. Issues requiring further study are identified, and measures for addressing these challenges are proposed.
