Personalization and automation of foreign language teaching for non-linguistic university students using Artificial Intelligence

Abstract. This article analyzes the use of artificial intelligence to personalize and automate foreign language teaching for non-linguistics university students. The paper examines methods for creating a variety of exercises aimed at developing speaking skills and grammar competence, adopted to specific needs of each professional field. Artificial intelligence enables to generate tasks taking into consideration the unique lexical and communicative needs of students, depending on their future professional activities. The author’s approach to creating and improving foreign language materials for future choreographers, music sound engineers, and journalists is presented.
The article emphasizes that the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process significantly increases students’ motivation and engagement, improves the quality of language acquisition, and facilitates teachers’ work with automating routine tasks. The proposed approach opens new perspectives in foreign language teaching for students majoring in various humanities fields. Furthermore, the use of artificial intelligence significantly facilitates the work of teachers when teaching foreign languages to students of non-linguistic specialties, as the automation of exercise creation and personalization reduce the time and effort required to prepare a variety of assignments adapted to students’ different levels and professional directions.
