Results of the third Russian psychological and pedagogical Olympiad for schoolchildren named after O. S. Grebenyuk

Abstract. The article presents the results of the third Russian Psychological and Pedagogical Olympiad dedicated to O. S. Grebenyuk. The Olympiad has been held annually since 2022 and consists of three stages. The results of the completing test tasks of the school stage increase from the seventh to the eleventh grade. At the second stage, most participants completed a creative task in the essay format, the video clip format became the most popular among students of the seventh and eighth grades. The quality of fulfilling the creative task has significantly increased compared to the indicators of previous Olympiads, especially video clips and poster presentations. At the final stage, the participants also received higher marks compared to previous Olympiads. The analysis of the results of the oral round has revealed the following trend: the participants are aware of the existence of problems / difficulties in both upbringing teenagers and teaching high school students, and are willing to voice them; at the same time, they continue to «look» at the problems / difficulties from the perspective of a schoolchild. Slightly more than a half of the participants find it difficult to formulate proposals for adults (teachers / parents) on the upbringing and education of schoolchildren of the same age. Some participants also have certain difficulties in substantiating their point of view and selecting the appropriate arguments. The preparation of schoolchildren for the psychological and pedagogical Olympiad includes not only mastering the subject content (in psychology and pedagogy), but also a number of forward-looking competencies that help the student in developing psychological readiness for professional self-determination.
