Ensuring continuity in the formation of primary geographical representations of Primary and Secondary schools
Abstract. The article considers the pedagogical conditions for the formation of primary geographical concepts at the stage of continuity of Primary and Secondary schools. The authors reveal the connection between teaching the subject «The World Around Us» and the Geography course in the grades 5–6 in accordance with the updated Federal state educational standard; focus attention on features of learning process when integrating subject, metasubject and personal results. The features of teaching Geography in the grades 5–6 are designated, taking into account the implementation of the systemactivity and practiceoriented approaches and the need to develop functional literacy among students. Attention is drawn to the consistency of stages of geographical education and the formation of geographical thinking in accordance with the Concept of the development of geographical education in the Russian Federation. Particular attention is paid to the implementation of the principle of continuity of geographical education through the substantive aspect and educational potential of the subjects «The World Around Us» and «Geography». The forms and methods of consistent formation of geographical ideas and concepts that allow to increase a cognitive interest on the lessons of «The World around us» and «Geography» are considered. Examples of designing individual lesson fragments on similar topics of the subjects «World Around Us» and «Geography» are given. The article presents a description of the methods that are most relevant in organizing educational and cognitive, educational and practical, educational and research activities of students at the stage of continuity of primary and secondary school. Attention is focused on the effectiveness of using the cartographic method and the organization of practical training.
