Features of awarding teaching staff by state, departmental and other awards (by the example of the Kirov region)

Abstract. Awarding teaching staff, unlike employees of other organizations and institutions has a number of features. First of all, choosing a candidate for an award is highly subjective. Here it is impossible, as in other areas of the national economy, to measure the contribution of a worker, for example, by the number of carved details, the length of railway lines, accidentfree flight hours, and other “digitized” indicators. However, if desired, these indicators can be distinguished, at least conditionally. These indicators include the results of students obtained in various assessment procedures (AllRussian Test Work, at the State Final Certification) and achievements of students in various competitions, school Olympiads. Other indicators of pedagogical mastery may be the results of teachers’ participation in professional competitions, publications and editions of methodological literature, public and social activity. However, they cannot be hardly objective, since there are no allRussian results based on them. Thus, the problem of the objectivity of rewarding teaching staff remains open. In this article, the author has tried to propose answers to the questions that interest pedagogical staff about the particularities of awards distribution. The final tables presented in the article were obtained as a result of monitoring conducted annually by the Institute for Educational Development of the Kirov Region.
