Steps to the digital future: experience of the Kaliningrad Region Association of Educational Institutions

Abstract. The education system is currently in the process of digital transformation. Using the potential of digital technologies contributes to improving the quality of education. The development of modern digital learning tools should begin from primary school, literally from the first grade. The article is devoted to the innovative activity of the Kaliningrad Region Association of Educational Institutions, which has been held in various project frameworks for the past three years. In the 2022/2023 academic year, with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, more than 1 500 students from 22 educational institutions of the Kaliningrad region participated in the work on the digital platform for the primary school “Learn to Study”. First-graders worked according to the program “Keyboard writing”, mastering the printing technique and gaining screen reading skills. The practice confirms that digital tools allow students to achieve higher academic results. Pedagogical innovation has already received support among teachers of many schools in the region, and in the parent environment. The leaders of the Association expect that the projects on the digital platform will be continued and will improve the quality of education not only in primary school, but also at the next stages.
