Linguistic experiment in primary school

Abstract. Based on the definition of experiment as a method for studying phenomena and processes, the article reveals the features and possibilities of linguistic experiment as one of the leading methods of cognition in the process of studying the Russian language. The relevance of studying this method and its conscious application by students in primary school is explained by the implementation, in accordance with the updated federal state educational standard of primary general education, into the content of the Federal work program for the academic subject ‘Russian language’ of a linguistic experiment as a new didactic unit. The methodology for organizing a linguistic experiment is revealed based on ideas about the types of experiments and their functional interaction. The possibilities of a linguistic experiment are considered as a source of knowledge of linguistic phenomena, processes, resolution of contradictions, a means of forming and developing skills in Russian language classes, a way to check the level of linguistic preparation of students, a leading method of achieving results in educational research and project activities in the field of linguistics, a tool of development of linguistic thinking of primary schoolchildren and the formation of their functional literacy, as well as examples of the use of this method of learning the Russian language at the level of primary general education, depending on the goals and objectives.
The article is recommended for primary school teachers to become familiar with linguistic experiment as one of the research methods, being a tool for the formation of functional literacy of primary schoolchildren and the development of their cognitive activity.
