Application of semantic reading techniques in a modern class

Abstract. The article discusses the organization of the educational process in the classroom using semantic reading techniques. The description of strategies of pre-text, text, post-text activity and types of reading are given. Such semantic reading techniques as “Brainstorming”, “Thesaurus”, “Announcement”, “Research of the author’s position”, “Folding and unfolding of the text”, “Alternate reading”, “Reading to yourself with questions”, “Reading with pauses”, “Reading to yourself with notes” “Relationship between the question and the answer”, “Questions after the text”, “Time-out”, “Checklist”, etc are considered. Examples of practical use of techniques of three strategies and five types of reading are given: extensive, searching, scanning, studying, interpreting, critical at different stages of the lesson. The instructional map has been developed for teachers on the use of techniques of strategies and types of reading at various stages of the innovative lesson: motivational-targeted, activity-operated and reflexive-evaluative. The conclusion is made about the necessity and importance of carrying out work on the development of reading literacy in accordance with the fundamental documents of the education system: the Federal state educational standard and the Federal basic general education program, which determine the obligatory planned results and assessment of the level of reading literacy of the graduate.
