Perspectives of VR and AR technologies in the additional education
Abstract. At present virtual and augmented reality technologies are undergoing a stage of rapid development. Despite the fact that technologies have undeniable advantages for use in the educational environment, it cannot be said that their usage is now widespread. This article delimits the fields of technology of virtual and augmented reality, considers their use and possibilities of application in the system of additional education, as well as prospects. A number of difficulties are described which a teacher using these technologies in his / her work may encounter with: from problems with equipment to a lack of methodological materials.
The main educational areas are analyzed in which the use of virtual and augmented reality applications is currently of significant interest. Examples of applications for various educational areas available at present for the domestic user and possible for use in the educational process by institutions of additional education are given. The features of these applications are indicated, which expand the capabilities of the teacher in comparison with standard computer programs for these subjects, and also make it possible to use them in the educational process. In general the prospects for the development of virtual reality in Russian education are identified.
