Situational task as an instrument of forming primary school students’ functional literacy

Abstract. The article reveals the notion “situational task” comparing it to terms “project task” and “problem task”. Didactic opportunities of the situational task as an instrument of forming primary school students’ functional literacy are analyzed. Model components and approaches to design a situational task are considered. The structure of the situational task for “Natural Environment” as a subject is described using a series of tasks on semantic reading , understanding the text, reproduction and using of clearly provided information; for generalization, interpretation and processing of information, formulation of conclusions.
