Problematic aspects of using the fiction as a means of education to preschoolers

Abstract. The article addresses the issues of using works of the fiction in preschool teaching and conceptualizes the term “means of education” as applied to the fiction. Based on the analysis of a current teaching practice and historical pedagogical experience of using children’s literature in preschool educational institutions in the Soviet period, the author seeks to determine the conditions of the effectiveness of the fiction as a means of education in current preschool education.
