Formation of the civic identity of primary school students

Abstract. The article substantiates the relevance of the issues of patriotic education at the present stage of the development of Russian society. The article presents the model of the formation of the civic identity of Primary school students, theoretical and practical aspects of patriotic education in primary school. This model is implemented in practice based on modern scientific ideas about the process and result of patriotic and civic education. The article summarizes many years of experience in patriotic education of primary school children. The author’s method of diagnosing for the formation of civic identity of primary school students is proposed.
