Formation of middle-aged preschool children’s social skills through role-playing games

Abstract. This work is devoted to the study of the influence of story-based role-playing game on the development of social skills of children aged 4–5 years. Modern research in the field of psychology and pedagogy emphasizes the importance of socialization of preschool children, especially in the middle of this period. The development of social skills is a complex process that includes the ability to establish contacts, show empathy, resolve differences, and adapt to various social circumstances. It is at this time that children actively study social roles and rules of behavior, which makes it crucial for the development of social abilities. Role-playing games, which represent simplified models of real life, are one of the most effective tools for developing these skills. During the game, children learn to interact, find compromise solutions, share responsibility and comply with established norms, while stimulating imagination, creativity and the ability to express their feelings. Research results show that children who are regularly involved in role-playing games demonstrate a higher level of socialization, establish easier contacts with peers and adults, and resolve controversial issues more effectively. This confirms the need to create a favorable environment for role-playing games in preschool institutions and at home. This article offers practical tips on organizing and conducting such games to achieve the best educational effect.
