Development of the professional interest of college students through the project method

Abstract. The article presents an analysis of the problem of professional self-determination of future teachers. Professional self-determination includes several stages: career choice, training, adaptation and professionalization. The author notes that high-quality professional self-determination of future specialists determines the degree of professional interest. The article presents the analysis of the concept and structure of professional interest. Professional interest is characterized as an emotionally positive attitude of students towards the profession being mastered, which is characterized by a desire to gain professional knowledge, skills and abilities, volitional control in the process of mastering the profession and the need for professional realization. With detailed pedagogical support, the flexibility of the level of professional interest of students is noted due to the impact on all components in its composition. The expediency of using the project method in the process of developing the professional interest of college students is substantiated. The use of the project method ensures the development of professional skills through detailed elaboration of tasks, and the creation of a specific practical result. The author considers the stages of preparation and organization of the project “The image of a primary school teacher”. The stageby-stage development of all structural elements of professional interest in the process of working on a project contributes to the sustainable formation of professional interest, which ensures the professional self-determination of future teachers.
