The application of active methods of work in the implementation of seminars for advanced training of foreign language teachers
Abstract. The article examines the application possibility of the active methods of education in the organization of professional development of teachers of foreign languages. The reasonability of continual improvement the professional competence of teachers is substantiated and the description of its component composition (methodological, communicative and linguistic competencies) is given. The necessity for the development of each of these components is indicated. The article examines the experience of foreign colleagues in the organization of professional development of teachers of foreign languages. The definition of active teaching methods and the effectiveness of their application are given. The authors provide examples and descriptions of ten active methods organization of work at seminars for advanced training of teachers of foreign languages. The possibility and scope of each of them are considered. The detailed description of the work organization and of the actions of the listeners and the head of the seminar, possible options for carrying out the work with the application of some of the described methods are given. The possibility of using the described active methods in the process of learning in foreign language lessons with proper reflection and the working out the method at the advanced training seminar is noted. The peculiarity of the organization of the process of professional development of foreign language teachers and the role of active methods of work in improving the professional competence of teachers are emphasized.
