Enculturation of senior preschool children to Russia’s cultural heritage through guiding activities in the ethnographic space of a museum room
Abstract. The article presents the innovative educational practice «Successful Guide», implemented in the conditions of museum room of Russian lifestyle «Istok» of historical and ethnographic profile. The aim of the article is to substantiate and describe the methodology of involving senior preschool children in guiding activities which, according to the author, is a means of involving them in traditional spiritual and moral values and the cultural heritage of Russia. The focus is on the development and implementation of the ethnographic quest-excursion «Akvarelka and the Ancient Find» as a vivid example of the integration of museum pedagogy, ethnopedagogy and game-based technologies. The methodology is based on the principles of gradual inclusion of the child in guiding activities: from getting acquainted with exhibition objects and game-based forms of mastering content to independently conducting mini-excursions and participating in competitions. Special attention is paid to partnership with parents, as well as to the expansion of the educational space beyond the kindergarten. The article presents forms and methods of work, the experience of theatrical excursions, virtual projects and parent-child activities. The practice has proven its effectiveness: children demonstrate the growth in cognitive activity, speech and communication competence, and their value-based attitude to culture is being formed. The effectiveness is confirmed by the success of young guides in municipal, regional and federal competitions. The conclusion about possibilities of adaptation and distribution of the method in various types of preschool educational organizations is made.
