Educational potential of a Mathematics lesson
Abstract. The Federal state educational standard regulates the necessity of achieving subject, metasubject and personal results. In this article the mathematics lesson is considered from the point of view of educational potential, development of important personal qualities of students, such as responsibility, diligence, purposefulness, selfregulation, selfesteem. Mathematical problems require students to have logical and analytical thinking, the ability to make a plan or algorithm of solution, to structure the material, to highlight the main and additional information. Mathematics allows to develop of critical thinking, assessment of data validity and analysis of information. These qualities form the basis for successful learning and further professional activity. The article outlines the possibilities of forming personal qualities through comprehension of the content of mathematical problems. Examples of mathematical problems with patriotic component of naval, engineering and technical content are given, which allow not only to lay the foundation for achieving subject results, but also contributes to the education of a patriotic citizen of his/her homeland, the formation of an active civic position of the student, respect for the armed forces of our country. Through the application of tasks with a patriotic context, students become interested in the historical past and present, the achievements of the country’s heroes, Russian scientists and science in general, and develop a sense of pride for the homeland.
